OHIO STATE FAIR ANNOUNCES CHANGES IN 2017 WITH CANCELLATION OF THE LIGHT HORSE SHOW

The Ohio Expositions Commission has announced changes to the horse show programming beginning during the 2017 Ohio State Fair, July 26 – August 6.

General Manager Virgil L. Strickler announced that Ron Mack of Seville, Ohio will oversee the Draft Horse Show, and that Dr. Kimberly Cole of The Ohio State University will continue to oversee the youth horse show. The pre-Fair Light Horse Show, traditionally held the week before the Fair opens, will no longer be held.

“Our partners and friends in the equine industry are a valued part of the Ohio State Fair,” said Strickler. “However, after deep and thorough consideration, we have determined that we are no longer able to host the Light Horse Show. We continue to value these dedicated exhibitors, and hope that they will enjoy participating in the many other equine events held throughout the year at the Ohio Expo Center.”
