Marion “Bit” Hutcheson
The horse show community learned of Marion “Bit” Hutcherson passing on December 3rd. Hutcheson’s Happy Valley Farm, in Rossville, Georgia, has been an iconic breeding and training facility for many years, having been started by Marion’s late parents, John L. and Marion Hutcheson.
Many top stallions have stood at Happy Valley over the years including MERCHANT PRINCE, INDIANA PEAVINE, and HARLEM’S FRIENDLY CONVERSATION to name a few. We cannot forget Hutcheson in the show ring on the fantastic CH Lilly Merrill, CH Precious Princess, CH Enlightening, CH In Reality and CH Allege.
“Bit” had recently focused on her breeding program with MERCHANT PRINCE, a World’s Champion in the Harness division. He sired many World’s Champions of his own and was sadly lost in the tragic fire at Happy Valley in June of 2013 where 35 horses perished.
We will update when arrangements for Bit are available.
