Dr. Frank James

 

 The American Saddlebred Horse Association is saddened to share that Dr. Frank James of Beavercreek, OH passed away on March 13, 2019. Dr. James will long be remembered by horsemen for the love and dedication he had for the American Saddlebred.

 

 James and his wife Iris were devoted to supporting the industry at every level. Since Iris retired from business in 1995, the James family was a familiar face to many and always someone you could turn to for advice and support. The pair was extremely active in the Ohio Circuit and Charter Club activities with J/M Farm. Dr. Frank and Iris were inducted into the Dayton Horse Show Hall of Fame in August 2014. They also campaigned horses across the country to champion titles with Nelson Green Stables and Infinity Stables.

 

  Wine’s American Beauty (115326M), Aisling’s Treasure (126408M*)1, James Lewis (103558G), CHThe Bodyguard (89379G), CHKool Tyme BH (106864G), Glitter ‘n Glitz (93952G*), Theology (108709G), Kalarama’s Superman (114055G), and True Fortune (119139G) are just a few of the great American Saddlebreds they have owned and loved.

 

Dr. James was the founder and chairman of James Investment Research, Inc. Founder and Chairman Dr. Frank James Jr.  Dr. James earned his Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1967.  His dissertation, The Implications of Trend Persistency in Portfolio Management, provided a computer-based study of the price movements of every security listed on the New York Stock Exchange between 1926 and 1960. The results of his research in identifying securities with high probability of future appreciation continue to be used in the firm today.  Dr. James was formerly in charge of the graduate management program, and a professor of Management and Statistics, at the Air Force Institute of Technology. While at James, Dr. James developed a team of seven other portfolio managers.

 

 Dr. James brought wisdom and integrity to the job every day and the firm plans to continue in his footsteps.  He has always emphasized doing what is right for the client and giving every client our best.

 

 A visitation was held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Dayton Vineyard Church in Beavercreek, Ohio.  Funeral services followed.  Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio assisted with funeral arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
