The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) has been informed by the Kentucky State Fair Board that two additional training days have been approved for the 2019 World’s Championship Horse Show. Freedom Hall will be open on August 15-16 so competitors can prepare for the event. During those two days the ring will close at both 7:30am and 5:00pm for maintenance and cleaning. There will be no additional days of classes added to the schedule.
The ASHA has been working closely with the WCHS Advisory Committee and the Kentucky State Fair Board to ensure that our membership’s concerns are heard. The Fair Committee, along with our representative Hoppy Bennet and manager Scarlett Mattson are working on projects to provide an enhanced customer experience for all exhibitors and spectators. Throughout this process the ASHA will continue to communicate and promote the future improvement of the show for the satisfaction of our membership and for the betterment of the American Saddlebred breed.
The Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show is introducing two new concepts for this year’s show to enhance the experience of the participants. We will be offering a limited number of VIP tables that will be located in Sections 318, 319 & 320. They will be available for purchase with eight seats directly behind the table. There are plans for a buffet to be located in the Peck Hickman Room, which is directly behind this area and will be available for those who have purchased the tables. This will give those from a barn the opportunity to sit together and enjoy the show.
Also new this year for purchase will be banners honoring a horse or rider that has won a World’s Championship at the Kentucky State Fair. These will be displayed in Freedom Hall throughout the show. They will be five foot by twenty foot with the World’s Championship Horse Show logo, the horse’s or rider’s name, year and title in the colors of the purchaser’s
choice. Further details for both these new and exciting additions will come at a later date, but start planning now to be a part of these new traditions at the World’s Championship Horse Show.
